bulletIncrease community awareness of the risks that youth are facing today
bulletConnect countywide programs, services, and initiatives in targeted ways to local efforts

For many years, local coalitions in Chester County have been utilizing a unique mobilization and planning model called Communities That Care (CTC) in an effort to promote healthy youth development and prevent and reduce youth health and behavioral issues including:

bulletSubstance Abuse
bulletDelinquency
bulletTeen Pregnancy
bulletSchool Drop-Out
bulletViolence

There are presently six Communities That Care sites in Chester County including Downingtown, Great Valley, Kennett, Octorara, Phoenixville and West Chester.

It is the goal of the Chester County Caring Communities Coalition to provide additional resources, training, and networking opportunities to enhance local prevention efforts.

Whether involved at the local or county level, partners have the opportunity to offer leadership, funding, volunteerism, field expertise, services, and collaboration to expand or enhance existing programs, as well as to launch new ones.  In addition, partners play a vital role in assessing the needs of youth and families and promoting the use of effective strategies and programs.
